This'll have to be the last stupid question I take. But feel free to EVEmail me if you're still confused. They can't practice on Sisi? They can't roll anonymous toons? You think getting welped by hundreds of fanbois is a good learning experience? Do you cry this much during every live event as well? Those are effectively the same thing: devs spawning and controlling ships in space to attack and be attacked by players. |

today I learned an important lesson about trolling: Some people don't even need to troll on purpose. They are just so bitter that they can derail entire threads full of people that are normally used to deal with generic trolls. So the secret of trolling is not to try too hard, but just be yourself to make everybody rage.
Yours,
Zimmy tl;dr Speak unvarnished truth to idiots and watch them rage. Confirmed. Funny you say that as you started the raging. |

AkJon Ferguson wrote:So let's recap.
The loot thieves had a field day.
PL had a field day.
The paste-eating fanbois had a field day.
The km whores had a field day (you'd add 200b or so to your ISK killed total if you managed to ***** all the mails.)
Everyone else ended up saying 'wtf, AkJon was right again.' EVE died a little more today. Stop peeing in the sandbox, CCP! If you want to bring a fleet through, fine. T1 battlecruisers, t2 fit, t1 rigs, (regular)faction ammo, 3% implants. No UBER drops!
I have nothing against devs interacting with the playerbase and enjoyed meeting a few of y'all at the Austin meet-up. But stop displaying such open contempt for the game we play.
You are raging again. That aside, who are you to decide how anyone, dev or not, can fit their ships or carry in their holds? Why, if they are looking for people to bring a fight to them, wouldn't they sweeten the pot a bit (which they did without breaking game mechanics). Since when do you get to decide all the terms of an engagement? Did it ever occur that they may have been trying to fit in a way to last longer and give more people a chance to participate? You seem to have no grasp of the sandbox while berating others for using it. |

supersexysucker wrote:Nice to see CCP still just spawns what they want. I am sure all the CCP players running bill ships + fits really worked hard for all that isk right?
Hey maybe rather than spawning yourself ****, and giving guys with tons of money more money... why not fix the damn game...
Seems like the forums are working reallllll well.
So eve goes down, and the forums go down the sametime as this dumb ass event... and let me guess... had nothing to do with it right?
LOL...
And if it did not! It just shows you people need to be spending time learning how to do your job, not playing a game, or you should be getting a pink slip. I find this amusing since one of the chief complaints around here is that they make poor gameplay decisions due to not playing and not knowing their game. |

for all you know CCP could have bought the PLEX from the market (with freshly spawned ISK) This. CCP has a long track record of contempt for the player-run economy and this is just the latest example. They buy up PLEX/GTC with ISK they magic-created and drive up the grind cost for everybody else. Spawning **** from nothing is fine on Sisi. If you want to form a fleet on TQ, EARN IT. Or fly blackbirds/ruppies next time. This is an interesting accusation, though nothing more unless there is some evidence of it happening and CCP being behind it. And no, your distrust is not evidence. While true CCP did mention that they would intervene if plex prices deviated to greatly from what they had envisioned, their outside of the game influences are going the opposite direction. Sure, they could be driving the price up to entice people to buy more plex, but at the same time the ingame prices would lead to reduced amounts traded on the market and potentially lapsed accounts from those who plex regularly. Also offering and more aggressive advertising of plex bundles, as well as giving plex from the buddy system would suggest they want prices of plex down. This recent act contributes, though insignificantly, in that same direction. Either way, the plex should be the least issue since they have the lowest impact on ingame economy since they only transfer isk and don't directly affect player created items.
As far as spawning things, that is what events, and to a greater extent PvE in general are. Even your suggestions fail your own tests. Spawning a navy apoc is no different from spawning ruptures and blackbirds, either way someone who produces that item didn't get to sell it, but at the same time it wouldn't have been sold for that purpose anyway if the event hadn't happened. If your issue is with events that drop loot as a whole, what is the distinction between that and normal PvE? They both create resources out of thin air, just one is based purely on game code, the other involving direct control by devs. |
